Come enjoy Bill Samios's new work on the 1 year anniversary evening of the Castro Art Walk. We'll be serving bubbles for the special occasion, and Michael's Chocolates will be on hand to serve samples of their new flavors as well as their award winning staples.
Samios' latest show consists of abstracts that is a reaction to recent life-altering events portraying the intense emotions that arose. The process includes a combination of brush strokes, squeegees swipes, pours, drips and splashes of paint keeping the medium very wet and strive to give up control and allow the element of chance to come into play. Samios feels he has learned how to handle intense life events with more grace and playfulness through this process - something everyone can benefit from.
We see the strong connection to a modern Scandinavian aesthetic not only in the form but also in the color groupings. The darker "colorless" abstracts are moody, dark and mysterious like the Scandinavian fall and winter seasons, while the pale blue and white grouping are light and enchanting like the Scandinavian spring and summer seasons.
