The AJ lamps (short for architect Arne Jacobsen) were designed in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Blu) and contributed to the total design concept of the hotel. Several of the hotel's items have achieved iconic design status and among the lighting products, the AJ lamps, in particular, have become world-renowned.
Materials: the wall base is spun aluminum, the shade is spun steel, and the stem is steel.
Takes a 40W/G16.5/F candelabra bulb
On/off switch on the wall base.
The fixture measure 13.2" from the wall to the tip of the shade; the shade is 9.7" long and the wall base is 4.8" in diameter.
